Opera Night on 18 November 2006

On 18 November 2006, Pudong Shangri-la Shanghai hosted its famed Opera Night gala with Italian and Chinese opera singers. This annual gala event is widely recognized as one of the city's top opera and social gatherings.

As a high-level opera event, the evening featured 12 tenors and sopranos. Six artists from Shanghai Opera House was led by the celebrated tenor, Wei Song, known as "China's Pavarotti."

Thanks to the help of renowned Italian tenor Angelo Marenzi, six acclaimed European tenors and sopranos - Marco Frusoni, Gianni Leccese, Micheal Spyres, Valeria Ferri, Alessandra Volpe and Cristina Giannelli - joined the show.

The opera performances was presented in two parts at the China Hall with around 700 participants.
